Small update

I've made my own version of Telluride after being disappointed with the 'custom airport' included with MSFS. It has so many flaws compared to the real airport

Telluride Regional Airport is a public airport six miles west of Telluride town on Dove Creek Mesa at 9070ft, in San Miguel County, Colorado, United States. It was opened in 1984 and is the highest commercial airport in the United States. Telluride Airport (KTEX) has commercial flights to Denver(KDEN) using the 30 seat Dornier 328JET operated by 'Denver Air Connection' and started in 2019.


Telluride is both a popular winter Ski destination and a summer festival/hiking vacation for tourists. In addition to the Denver air link, KTEX is a popular destination by many private pilots flying aircraft up to Gulfstream size. It's also used as a stop-over airport crossing the continent.

Telluride is a challenging airport to land your aircraft. At 9070ft you need more speed  and landing distance. In addition, there is a 1000ft drop into the San Miguel River Valley below. Runway 9 has a step 3.55' glide path, Runway 27 has an even stepper 4.0' glide path due to terrain east of the runway. There is not enough terrain separation for large jets to safely circle to land on runway 27, therefore large Jets must land runway 9 often with a tailwind. Smaller Jet may land on runway 27 at pilot's discretion.
