MSFS Product Support / Re: MS Marketplace issues
Last post by Nic Green - Jan 14, 2025, 11:29 AM
Gary I'm on Xbox MSFS 2024 and while the Guernsey scenery has come across from MSFS2020, the core library has not (so no cars, aircraft, etc). This may not be anything you have any control over, or I may need to wait until the MSFS 2024 Marketplace is activated. In MSFS 2024, it seems to add its own random fuel bowsers and other items in addition to yours.

V.1.4.0
Had to make the airport lower as the MSFS Photogrammetry was messing up the terrain around the dock

The delivery of updates on the MS Marketplace has been appalling recently. I got so fed up of waiting for a runway alignment upgrade to be uploaded for another developer's product (no sign of it after THREE MONTHS), that I (successfully) sent an order transfer request to move my purchase to the developer's site so that I could get the latest version. Absolutely ridiculous. The arrival of MSFS 2024 is no excuse.

MSFS Product Support / MS Marketplace issues
Last post by Gary Summons - Dec 13, 2024, 11:35 AM
I'm aware that MS still don't make available some of your MSFS2020 purchases of UK2000 Airports in MSFS2024, I think Newquay is an example. I dont know why, MS have not responded to me on this matter, The airport certainly does works fine in 2024.

I'm sure at some point this will be sorted, but if your desperate to use it, then providing you can give me some proof of purchase I can send a ZIP, this will just be a short term gesture, The whole point of using sellers like the Marketplace and Simmarket is that they take on the responsibility of content delivery not me. Please use our support form to request a ZIP version along with proof of purchase form the MS Marketplace.

Clearly you dont have the AIG latest venture into the world of GA then Chris with DynFP. Its GA traffic packages (Cessnas, Pipers etc) that install like any commercial airline package from AIG but it adds flying schoos and clubs etc in various regions of the world. UK especially is well represented. Its rapidly growing as well and Holland so far is above and beyond amazing.

Eighteen years with this hobby and I dislike static aircraft as much now as ever 😂

I think that static GA aircraft is a good compromise. The massive AIG AI database that I have installed works well as far as seeing realistic airliners and executive jets are concerned. In addition, the impact on performance is not as great as I had expected. I have my AI set to 100%, and I have a 2015 specification PC (i5 7600K @ 4.5Ghz/32BG DDR4-4200 RAM @ 3.6Ghz/6GB Nvidia GTX 980Ti).

The only problem I have concerns the animation and behaviour of the AI planes. Take offs and landings are very basic when compared to the smooth animations of AI planes in P3D, and runway control is all over the place (I have seen all four runways in use at the same time at London Heathrow)!

Yes I have asked, and in general the compremise I have is the best solution for most but not all. I generally don't block any official parking stand. So AI is not effected.(yes for egjb, stand 23 is blocked) I can assure you I regularly get requests for static airliners as well and I have to explain this compremise from opposite side.

AI is very difficult and time consuming to even get anywhere near acceptable for any airport. You may be good at it, but the vast majority are not. I'm not exactly a noob at FS, but I gave up with Ai, yes I've tried various addons, but I always end up with default cj4. And those crazy looking msfs airliners Everywhere, it just does look correct for me. Just last night I got 2 sprit crjs at Guernsey. Also What about xbox users? , remember there is a large msfs xbox market, and in general they use default ai alone.

How would you pack AI into tight parking arrangement which GA parking generally is? Also inside hangers, that's even tighter. How would you create custom scenes, like c17s at prestwick, falcon 20s,european a340 at Bournemouth without going to extreme levers by the by the end user. It's not viable to expect users to do all this with Ai when it will certainly fail. Sorry I will continue to create airport scenes using static GA aircraft while not effective those who want to add specific AI.

I fully understand your position and its your scenery addons in the end so you do them the way you want 😀 The question is would it not be easier for you without? I hear people complain, there is too many biz jets, there are too few of this or that. Why add them in the first place. why not let peple add whatever AI they want and make all airfields static free? Have you ever asked your customers if this is actually what they want.

Sorry but I only can make 1 version, it will never please everyones personal wishes and I do realise that. But It's too complex to maintain different versions. Its not just an odd file swap like it was in the older sims, it's a whole new separate project.

Exactly. That was it, a different no static airplane version of the common library. please Gary also for FS2024 would be very nice to get rid of those static planes. We have AIG, FSLTL and the default AI traffic, who needs non moving planes 😀
